Let go and let God

Oh, to live life free from fear and anguish!
How very liberating that would be indeed!
When I pondered the idea of writing on this subject, a photo in particular came to my mind.

This is Buddy, our sweet dog. We rescued Buddy over 3 years ago.
The day we went to get him, we realized the environment Buddy lived in was far from ideal.
We quickly left the premises and were determined from that day, Buddy would be safe and happy.

The road to happiness wasn’t easy for Buddy.
Judging from his inability to interact with other animals and people, as well as a host of health issues, we concluded Buddy had been formerly used as a breeding dog.
Things that came natural for dogs were not normal for Buddy.
The very act of playing was so foreign to him, our other dog had to actually teach Buddy to play.

Likewise, many of us like Buddy have been so zapped by life’s circumstances that we cannot relish the joy when it’s set before us.
Years of negativity place a dark shroud over our perception and very often we cannot appreciate the beauty that comes from enjoying life to its fullest.

My biggest challenge was and still is learning to breathe and relax.
Crisis has taught me to always be on guard and ready when adversity strikes.

But now, like Buddy I have periods where I catch myself laying on my back, totally relaxed.
Day by day we can embrace the Words “Let go and let God,” knowing full well He is more than capable to handle all our issues.

If we truly believe that He will supply all our needs, then our “Dog days” will be a thing of the past for us.
