Jesus explained to me, “I know you do not like rocking the boat. But consider this: Sometimes in your earnest desire to be compliant and not make waves, the boat rocks you!”
There will be many who will be angry, or offended at the stance we take for the Lord.
But this is our mission, if we are to be His followers.
The Words of Jesus: “Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 10:32
I think of the example of the disciples and Jesus out in a boat, at sea, when a mighty storm approaches.
Jesus was sleeping and the men were so afraid. They cried out, “Lord, Do you not care that we perish?”
The waves rose up higher, and the wind beat ferociously against the vessel. Yet Jesus had the peace to believe all was well.
Life most times is like that storm. It rages with the opposition of those, who want to silence the voices of the people of God, proclaiming His Word.
Of this, I will not be quiet and I cannot concede. No matter what my nature of compliance is.
We stand together, tall and proud. We will not go quietly into the night. The turbulence may be unsettling. But Jesus is confident of the outcome.
We fight, not in anger, not in contempt. But in love, temperance, and in ensurance knowing the battle is not ours, but the Lords.
Fighting the “good fight of faith” sometimes means you need to speak out for God when you would rather be silent,
or holding your tongue, when your flesh wants you to verbally rip into someone.
It is a matter of “walking in the Spirit” and letting the Lord lead.
We can be assured of one thing, they will hate us as they hated Him.
“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.” Matthew 10:21-22
The day will come when all (believers, non-believers, and those who are lukewarm) will have to give an account of their life before almighty God.
I would rather offend, anger, or disappoint countless men, than do the same to my Heavenly Father.
I do not post daily to receive the approval, or accolades of people, but out of obedience to the Lord.
I want you to like me. But most of all I want God to say when I reach Heaven, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
You see, Jesus’ main goal is to feed His sheep.
He asked Peter, “Do you love me? Then feed my sheep.”
God does not want us to go out on the streets, screaming “Repent! The kingdom of God is near!”
He wants us to take His message of love, to whatever forum He sends us and never stop!
Let us be relentless in our goal of pleasing God, rather than pleasing man.
