We are now free to live for Christ and have power through Him, over evil

The days following Jesus’s death on the cross, His body lay in the tomb. Many believe as I do, Jesus was not just laying dormant.

The Bible says in Matthew 12:40: For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

I believe that Jesus Christ went down to Hell the moment He died.

I believe with my whole heart He appeared before the devil. He took the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven that Satan had held captive for thousands of years.

I believe, at that moment He spoiled principalities that had held many in shackles. At that very second, Jesus freed our souls and spirits to the miraculous and the awesome life we can share with Him.

No longer are we prisoners to the old law. The law of adhering to strict practices to be acceptable to God was eliminated forever by the blood of the Lamb. He annihilated the works of the flesh by exercising power over evil.

Rev. 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

We are now free to live for Christ and have power through Him, over evil.

Ephesian 4:7-13 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says:
“When he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to his people.”
(What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions?

He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.)

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up

until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
